Brink of the Lower Falls - Yellowstone River
Recently completed in March of 2023, this 20x20 inch oil painting depicts the crest of the river changing from smooth flowing water to tumultuous cascades that will drop 308 feet and slowly carve away the volcanic rock of the canyon.
Looking East
Completed in February 2023, this 8x11 inch oil painting on hardboard show the view looking East on the rocks near the Bass Harbor Lighthouse in Maine. The day I visited was a clear and crisp winter day and the sun accentuated rusty tones of the granite and the vibrant green of the pines. I used broad strokes and less than usual detail to emphasize the colors of the stone, snow and vegetation.
